Pilates is a system of core-strengthening exercises that uses breath and proper body alignment to develop whole body strength. Classical Pilates is a method of physical and mental conditioning created and developed by Joseph H. Pilates over 75 years ago. Using specially designed equipment in combination with mat exercises, Pilates dramatically improves strength, flexibility, coordination and posture, developing firmer, sleeker and more powerful muscles.

Pilates incorporated his study of eastern and western philosophies of physical and mental conditioning to create more than just an exercise program. Pilates engages mind, body, and spirit, working as an integrated whole.

Our Pilates classes are customized to meet our clients’ needs, and we take extra care to ensure that our students’ individual health goals and concerns are addressed. We offer a wide-variety of Pilates training to suit the needs of both our beginners and our advanced students. Our Pilates classes include Private Sessions, Duet Instruction utilizing Pilates equipment, Mat Classes, a 55-minute Foam Roller Workout, and a Focus Private Class that specifically utilizes bio-mechanics and anatomy for a deeper understanding of Pilates. Our class size is small, our approach is unique, and our goal is focused. We welcome all and support Pilates for beginners and for advanced students.

Karen Nuwer is a fully Certified Pilates instructor and Lancaster native with 10+ years of all level pilate experience. Her Amazing 30+ year experience in the dance industry is a huge asset in her ability to work with all types of individuals to meet and maintain their health goals through the practice of Pilates.
